I enjoyed writing this essay because it pushed me to consider new perspectives and compare two films from the same franchise, Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, released ten years apart. These movies mean a lot to me, so analyzing the work and effort behind them was a pleasure. Looking at the themes of gender and class helped me understand nostalgic scenes on a deeper level. Identifying and breaking down these themes within specific moments also helped me develop a new skill.
