Your professor will almost for sure post a grading rubric for every major assignment that you will have to complete. Having it open during the process of drafting is for sure a great help.
Just by glancing over it would take your work to another level. Even after completing your assignment you are able to grade you own work based on the guidelines set within it.

Peer Review

It is not underlined enough how important it is to show up for each and every peer review class. The insights you receive from peers truly helps and guides your work to the better. Getting the advantage of looking at your writing from a different perspective, as well as looking at the amazing essays your peers have created. They push you to be more concise or even find a missing component in your writing.

Create an Outline

A secret that is my personal favorite is creating an outline. Just by sitting down before starting the process for each writing assignment, creating an outline of the main points that you want to include within your piece will guide you. An example of how you can possibly do this is by starting with bullet points, going step by step, while also looking over the rubric provided to you by your professor (secret #1).

Secret #4

Small but forgotten tips

- Drafting : Make sure to complete at least two drafts for each writing to reach the full potential.

- Time Management : Managing your time in this class matters. Having put so much effort into writing each assignment it is a waste to have points deducted from a late penalty.

- Look at the Syllabus : Look over the syllabus before starting your journey as a ENGW 1111 student.
